Most agencies are in one of two
positions -- either they have recently added digital imaging capabilities,
or they are doing research to do so. And, regardless of which of these two
positions your agency is in, there is nothing better that one can do than
get information.
If you are planning to purchase equipment in the future, taking a workshop
in digital imaging applications will provide a foundation so that your
purchases will be made wisely. You will know what areas of digital imaging
you will incorporate into your agency. You will have a good idea of what
hardware and
software you will need -- and what hardware and software you won't need.
And, you will have a good idea of what to do with it once you get it.
If you already have digital imaging equipment, you want to get the most
value for your investment by taking advantage of training. You want to make
sure that you are using your hardware and software to its full potential.
And, you want to make sure that you are using your equipment efficiently, to
save time and eliminate waste.
Imaging Forensics schedules workshops in Forensic Digital Imaging throughout the United States. These workshops are in Digital
Photography & Digital Darkroom applications; Digital Image Enhancement; and
Interactive Panoramas for Law Enforcement. There are usually one or two
workshops scheduled every month.
A schedule of upcoming workshops is available for viewing on the
Calendar
page of the Training section.
These workshops are frequently hosted by individual agencies,
through
Criminal Justice Institutes; Universities, Colleges & Extension programs;
and Forensic Identification Training Seminars. We are always seeking new
locations to host these workshops -- if your agency is interested in hosting
a workshop, please contact us.
All of our workshops are hands-on, intensive training courses. Each
participant is assigned their own computer to use. Step-by-step processes
are presented for many common applications. A thorough understanding of each
process is provided, so that each participant can apply the same theory or
process to any digital imaging system -- regardless of the hardware or
software in use.
In addition to the practical exercises, these workshops cover important
topics related to our field. These topics include court issues relating to
digital imaging, testimony methods, image management and image security,
protocol development, and creating a digital imaging workflow. Every aspect
of these workshops is oriented toward law enforcement applications of
digital imaging technology.
All of our workshops are led by members of our training staff who have a
background in law enforcement and in digital imaging. We understand the
needs of law enforcement, we know what the difference is between a
fingerprint and a smudge, we have testified in court, and we have worked in
this field. We are not college professors, we are not retired executives
from photography firms, and we are not systems integrators trying to sell
equipment by posing as trainers.
If you want to make the best use of your digital imaging equipment, or you
want to get a great introduction prior to taking the plunge, a workshop can
be the best choice. Look at our schedule. If you don't see something that is
in a convenient location or time, consider hosting a workshop.
Partial List of Workshop Attendees:
