The core of Imaging Forensics is based on Image Analysis and Enhancement. We can enhance a poor quality latent fingerprint, compare objects in multiple photographs or determine whether an image has been modified. We can enhance surveillance or security videos, negatives, photographs, and even Polaroids. If your case involves visual evidence, we can help. Image Analysis: The goal of image analysis is to determine
whether an image has been altered. In many cases, correcting an image for
proper color balance, image contrast and brightness is not only acceptable – but is required to present fair documentation. However, it is also necessary
to determine what was done to the image, if the content of the image was
altered, if the procedures were within acceptable protocols, etc. In
addition, image analysis is used to gather information about an object in a
photograph, negative of digital file. This can be used to determine if an
object in one photo is the same as an object in another, if an object is a
specific size or shape, etc. |

Image Enhancement: Is there information in the shadow area, a
skid mark on black asphalt in a night photo, can the blurry photo be
sharpened? Getting more information from negatives, prints, documents, and
digital photographs can provide you with the evidence that your case needs. |

Evidence Enhancement: Fingerprints, tool marks, bullet
striations, blood spatter, stains, bruises, tire impressions, primer
markings, license plates, serial numbers, questioned documents, bite marks,
pattern impressions, etc. Visual evidence frequently is too blurry, dark,
light, or for a number of other reasons lack details. There are many valid
techniques for improving the value of your visual evidence, and Imaging
Forensics has the expertise to be certain that you are getting all that is
possible. |

Video Enhancement: Video evidence is everywhere – from
convenience store security tapes to home movies of crimes taking place or
national disasters. But, video quality is usually very poor, and may suffer
from uncalibrated equipment, security system multiplex compression, camera
movement by amateur photographers, subject movement, and the low resolution
of video. We have the equipment and expertise to help you get the most out
of video evidence. |
